Jim Henson's MuppetVision 3D fun and furry facts

Jim Henson, creator of the Muppets and a great humanitarian, is one of my heroes - so much that I named my youngest son Henson for him. Did you know that Jim Henson's MuppetVision 3D was his last major project before his untimely death? Amongst the many characters Jim performed and voiced are Kermit the Frog, and that crotchety old Waldorf up in the balcony. Frank Oz voiced and performed Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Sam the Eagle to name a few. While Jim voiced the Swedish Chef, it was operated by both Jim and Frank. Dave Goelz was the original voice and performer of Gonzo and still continues to perform in that role today.

Because Jim Henson was a fan of the "it's a small world" attraction, if you look and listen closely in the 3D film, you'll see recreations of some of the "small world" dolls looking frightened from the zany antics around them, and you might even hear them sing a single line from the theme song during the "salute to all nations, but mostly America."

The music that you hear outside of the attraction are instrumental versions of songs made famous by the Muppets and includes the songs "Bein' Green," first heard on "Sesame Street," and songs from "The Muppet Movie," "The Great Muppet Caper" and "Muppets Take Manhattan," the theme from "The Muppet Show" TV series and even "Mahna Mahna" which the Muppets first performed on the Ed Sullivan show in 1969 and later in the first episode of "The Muppet Show."
