Interview with Marc Davis, creator of Tinker Bell, Thumper, and countless Disney contributions
The first interview I ever did was actually for a book I put together with my wife called "Where in Disneyland Attractions?" It was a photo book with close ups of various beautiful things in Disneyland, and the following page would have a wide shot, showing where it was located.
The people at Disneyland merchandise asked us to include the storylines of attractions as captions, so we went to Marc Davis who designed so many of the ghosts, pirates, bears and other characters that are still in the Disney parks today.
Asking him about the "Haunted Mansion" he told us both he and Walt felt there wasn't a place for a storyline in a ride-thru attraction. You're immersed in a different time or place, but it wasn't real storylines.
Instead, I ended up just including trivia about the attractions, but I also ended up talking to Marc about his start with Disney and some of his legendary work, and I happened to record the whole thing.
This was long before I was doing Mouse Clubhouse interviews, but now that I've done over 200, Marc remains the first.
